Misa Rasmussen, M.A., APCC, AMFT
I am a licensed associate therapist and relationship and parenting specialist dedicated to creating a respectful, compassionate, and empowering space for healing and growth. With a background rooted in evidence-based practices and a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming care, I believe that each person’s journey is as unique as their experiences. My approach incorporates a range of modalities including DBT, ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, and psychodynamic methods, all tailored to meet the individual needs of teens, adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, life transitions, and emotional challenges.
With an in-depth understanding of human development, I gain greater insight into my adult clients and what shapes their experiences and behaviors. I believe therapy is a judgment-free zone where curiosity replaces shame. We approach the process with compassion, exploring underlying themes and patterns, often beyond our initial awareness. We come to therapy to do better and to grow, and I am here to hold that space with expertise and empathy, providing psycho-education based on the latest research when necessary.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and have obtained certifications in trauma-informed care and youth services. I prioritize a collaborative, transparent, and authentic relationship with my clients. I view problems as complex and individualized, and I focus on honoring each person’s strengths and resources as we work together to challenge limiting beliefs, build resilience, and cultivate meaningful change.
In my work with families, I have helped foster cohesion, process trauma, grief, illness, and LGBTQ+ adjustments, and reduce stress to create harmonious, nourishing family experiences. I am passionate about supporting parents and caregivers in developing healthy, connected relationships with their children. Whether you're navigating parenting challenges, attachment concerns, or seeking guidance on supporting your child's emotional well-being, I am here to support your family’s growth.
I am committed to creating a safe environment where curiosity and exploration are welcomed. Whether you're seeking support around trauma, neurodiversity, parenting, or simply looking to live more fully and authentically, I am here to support your journey. I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can discuss your goals and see if we are a good fit.
I look forward to partnering with you on your path toward healing, resilience, and purposeful living.
